3 Ways to SEO your Blog Post
Blog posts (i.e. fresh content) is one of the top ways to SEO your website. However, just writing posts vaguely relevant to your industry or product/service is not going to cut it, to get the most value and ranking power from your post. Instead, try these techniques:
1. Front-load your keywords e.g. 'Florist Newbury: How to do x". By putting the keywords at the front of the blog title, you are telling Google how to index this post, and the types of keywords and search terms it should be ranked for. This is not to say you should keep this as a go-to template for all of your blog posts, but do keep your keywords in mind and include them in blog post titles where appropriate.
2. Use your keyword in the first 1-2 sentences of your blog post. By repeating your keyword in your blog post title and also the first 1-2 sentences of your blog post, you are repeating to Google exactly what it should be ranking you for.
3. Post links back to your business website from your blog post and use the keyword as the anchor text e.g. instead of 'click here', put 'Web Design Sheffield'. Backlinks to your website are one of the other major factors affecting your rankings in Google. The more relevant, authoritative, and fresh, your links are - the more influence they have on your ranking. At the bottom of your blog post, or within it where relevant, be sure to link back to your website and/or specific pages relevant to the post.
